Environmental Science
Students in the Elementary and Middle-school programs participate in our Environmental Science class daily. In this class, students explore local and global environmental issues and discuss ways to improve the way humans interact with the environment. The students have learned about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to better understand how humans need the environment. They have begun a recycling program at the school, a compost system, and a dual garden in which they will compare organically-fertilized (with EcoBOSS16) to non-fertilized plants.
A special thanks to the EcoBOSS16 Team for donating the fertilizer, teaching the children about soil additives, and digging in with PCIS students!
We appreciate the cooperation of the Gorgona Branch of Recimetal in our efforts to recycle clear plastic, glass, aluminum, and alloy cans.
